SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCES
  • Carl enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and became a Motor Machinist's Mate and after boot camp & machinist school was assigned aboard the USS Sperry - AS-12 - Submarine Tender in the Pacific Theater at Pearl Harbor, Midway, Marshall Islands, and the Marianna Islands.  He served until 1946 and rose to the rank of Petty Officer 1st. Class.  The USS Sperry was heavily involved in the Pacific War during those years.

        Carl and his wife, Danielle, lived in Sutton Walk.

Carl Etshman, Jr. passed away at Health Park in Fort Myers, Florida on October 3, 2007.   Memorial Services with full Military Honors will be held at Saint Columbkille Catholic Church on Saturday, October 27th at 10 am.
