  • Crewman aboard a Navy PV Ventura Medium Bomber.  Logged over 1,400 hours of patrol and search missions in the South Pacific.   We were land based on Tinian Island where the "Enola Gay" B-29 Bomber dropped the Atomic bomb on Japan.  When Japan surrendered we were land based in Okinawa
