SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCES
  • Joined the U.S. Army in  March of 1944 and after basic training left for the European Theater.

  • Went to Europe in September 1944 in action with the 44th Infantry Division.  

  • Immediately engaged in the Battle of the Bulge with the 309th Infantry Regiment, 78th Division. Walked the entire route to Berlin.  During the winter of 1945 Karl was hospitalized twice being wounded and suffering severe frost bit.  Among other places in Germany Karl fought the intense battle for the Ramegan Bridge. 

  • Karl received the Bronze Star for  valor in addition to the Purple Heart.

  • Karl and Ruth were married for 60 years and he sang in the Trinity United Church of Christ Choir for 62 years in Miamisburg, Ohio.

He and his wife, Ruth, lived in Wedgewood during the winter months.

Karl B. Miller passed away at Lexington in January 2000..  He was 82.  Karl was cremated and his ashes scattered off Sanibel Island.  His veterans memorial stone is located in the cemetery in Miamisburg, Ohio.
