SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCES
  • Don joined the U.S. Army in  1951 shortly after the start of the Korean War in 1950 and served primarily in the U.S. at Ft. Devons, Mass., Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Parachute Jump School in Ft. Benning, Georgia and Camp Drum, New York before going to the then Territory of Alaska as a member of the 503rd Airborne Infantry Regiment participating on maneuvers to determine if an aggressor force can penetrate Alaskan defenses by parachute assault not using any road system such as the Alkan Highway.

He and his wife, Gloria, lived in Sommerset Villas during the winter months and in Doylestown, Pennsylvania during the summer.

Donald Moelter passed away at Lexington in April 2007.
